Safe Baking Practices for Polymer Clay and Carbon-Fiber Baking Blank

When baking polymer clay, it's crucial to use a well-ventilated room, ideally with the oven close to a ventilation source or at least one window open. For those who bake polymer clay regularly, it's recommended to use a separate oven specifically for this purpose, distinct from the one used for cooking food.

Similarly, when baking our carbon-fiber blanks, it's essential to take precautions due to the potential release of odors. We advise using a well-ventilated space and a dedicated oven for this task. This is particularly important for larger surfaces, which can emit more noticeable odors.

Our baking blanks and bases are professionally 3D-printed with high-quality materials, including carbon-fiber, which can be safely baked at temperatures up to 150°C (300°F). This makes them perfect for creating a variety of items such as bracelets, rings, and vases. For best results, we recommend using our dedicated baking bases for rings and necklaces.

Baking carbon-fiber in an oven at temperatures up to 150°C is generally considered safe for humans, provided that appropriate precautions are taken. However, there are a few important considerations to keep in mind:

  1. Ensure the area is well-ventilated. Adequate ventilation will help to dissipate any potential fumes.
  2. Food Safety: Avoid using the same oven for baking food and materials. Even if the material is deemed safe, it’s best to use a dedicated oven to avoid any risk of contamination.

If these precautions are followed, baking carbon-fiber blanks and bases at temperatures up to 150°C should not pose a health risks.
